Rick Stinnett of Bessemer City Kings Mountain Drive-In let me know although his drive-in wasn’t in the top 5 in the Honda Project Drive-In competition, he has another chance to get a digital projector that’ll help him stay open.

Project Drive-In is giving away four more digital projectors, and voting will continue until 9 p.m. Saturday, he said.

The contest has 116 drive-ins still in the competition, including Bessemer City Kings Mountain and Belmont Drive-In, which joined the contest after the original deadline.

Stinnett believes he was in the top nine and hopes he’ll be one of the lucky four to get the digital projector.

“If we don’t get a digital projector, we may have to close,” Stinnett said. “We hope we can get the message back to the community to build that vote.”

Check out ProjectDriveIn.com for details on how to vote. You can vote every day online and via text message.
