West Gastonia will have one more fast food choice when Taco Bell comes to the area near the intersection of West Franklin Boulevard and West Garrison Boulevard.

Spell Construction Inc. sought a building permit last month to build a 1,949-square-foot fast food restaurant at 1840 W. Franklin Blvd. at a projected cost of $600,000, according to a Gastonia permit.

Gastonia TB LLC purchased the 0.88-acre property Sept. 4 for $520,000, according to property deeds. Gastonia TB LLC’s registered agent is Jeff Watson.

He’s the manager for Watson Commercial Development Inc. of Davidson, according to deed records.

“The restaurant will seat 40 customers in the dining room and is expected to open before the end of the year,” wrote The Taco Bell Team via email.

End of the year is likely December, according the team.

Taco Bell Corp. signed a 20-year lease for the property with the option to renew the lease for an additional five years four times, according to a lease memorandum.

Taco Bell gets first dibs on buying the property after its lease time runs out.
