An accused shoplifter fled police, but was caught outside Buffalo Wild Wings amidst the crowd of holiday shoppers.
Police allege Scott Christopher Smith, 31, of Stanley, had stolen a couple pairs of work gloves and a number of other items from Walmart on Franklin Blvd. When approached by officers, he fled.
Police say Smith fled behind the Cook Out on Franklin Blvd. and through the woods to exit near Buffalo Wild Wings. There police apprehended him.
Smith was charged with misdemeanor larceny and resisting public officer.
He was jailed on a $25,000 secured bond.
