Three Gaston County residents have been arrested and charged with conspiring to sell stolen metal to a Gastonia scrapyard.
Those charged include William Alfred Jenkins Jr., 31, of 969 Brown St., Gastonia, Shawna Maria Morrow, 31, of Belmont, and David Alexander Wright, 23, of Gastonia.
Gastonia police arrested all three suspects Friday and charged with them multiple counts of obtaining property under false pretense and conspiracy.
Police say Jenkins, Morrow and Wright made multiple trips to Action Demolition in Gastonia over a period of time and sold more than 1,500 pounds of copper and more than 300 pounds of red brass, which was later determined to be stolen. They reaped more than $5,600 from the sales, according to arrest warrants.
Bonds at the Gaston County Jail were set at $50,000 for Jenkins, $60,000 for David Wright, and $75,000 for Morrow.
