Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies discovered two active meth labs while searching for a missing juvenile. According to police, the deputies were looking for a missing juvenile from Cornelius at 5719 Country Lane, Stanley, Sunday afternoon.

When officers were allowed to enter the residence by the homeowner, 27-year-old Ashley Nicole Hunsucker, they encountered a strong odor of a chemical substance.

Police allege Hunsucker ran to a 2-liter bottle and tried to throw it away. Deputies removed everyone from the residence and found several items known to be used in the process to manufacture methamphetamine.

The missing juvenile was also found at the home. The juvenile was removed from the home and released to Cornelius Police. Four other males between the ages of 19 and 26 were also at the home at the time.

The SBI Crime Lab was contacted and a crew has been dispatched to the scene to clean up the meth lab.

Narcotics investigators say two active meth labs were discovered during the incident and evidence of previous meth labs.

Hunsucker was charged with one felony count each of manufacturing a controlled substance schedule I and maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance. She was placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center without bond.
