A 32-year-old Gastonia man had been charged with hitting a man in his car and fleeing the scene.
Police allege Marco Acosta Perez, of 1665 Herman Drive, crashed into another vehicle on Clyde Street on Dec. 6. According to arrest records, Perez allegedly fled the scene.
The man in the vehicle suffered injuries from the crash.
Gastonia Police allege Perez was impaired at the time of the crash and that impairment is what caused the crash. According to arrest records, Perez was also charged with not having a driver’s license.
He was jailed Tuesday on a $10,000 secured bond.
