Bessemer City police made a burglary arrest Tuesday morning, and say the suspects may be involved in a series of robberies and assaults in the area. And one of the suspects remains on the loose and should be considered dangerous, police say.

Donnovan Jerome Huskey Jr., 20, of Heather Court, Bessemer City, was charged with second-degree burglary for an incident Monday night. He was booked into Gaston County Jail under a $100,000 bond. Police say his accomplice, Martavious Adams, 18, remains on the loose.

Police say the two men may be involved in other crimes, including a series of armed robberies that have included pistol-whipping assaults. "We're just looking at all the evidence and anything that could connect them to any of the others," Bessemer City Police Chief Tom Ellis said Tuesday morning.

Police say a break in the case came when they were called to 223 N. 10th St. at 10:34 p.m. Monday concerning a breaking and entering. A neighbor had reported hearing breaking glass. When police arrived at the home they saw two men running away.

An investigation led police to the Northgate Apartments on Heather Court. Huskey was arrested without incident, but Adams remains on the loose. Police say they want the public's help to find Adams.

"He's got a history of violence," Ellis said of Adams.

Adams has been booked into Gaston County Jail six times since May 2011 for charges including assault and armed robbery.
